GoContractor’s Kevin Mathiasz, and members of Enterprise Ireland, met with Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Leo Varadkar on 21st of August, at an Irish-Canadian business breakfast in Toronto.

The Irish Taoiseach was in Toronto at a business breakfast organised by the Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise Ireland in Toronto.

At a speech during breakfast, Varadkar announced that Ireland will seek to double its footprint overseas, including doubling Ireland’s business agency representation by 2025. Canada’s investment in Ireland is estimated to be about $14 billion and Canadian-Irish trade is considered increasingly more important to both countries.

Mathiasz, GoContractor’s Business Development Manager for Canada, highlighted GoContractor’s recent success in the Canadian market. He also outlined both GoContractor’s business development and expansion plans to Varadkar, who used his speech at the breakfast to encourage deeper trade links between Canada and Ireland.

GoContractor now has offices in Toronto, in addition to its offices in New York, London and its headquarters in Dublin. GoContractor has exponentially grown its client base in Canada and in conjunction with Varadkar’s plans regarding increasing an Irish business footprint in Canada, GoContractor will be expanding its operations and its Toronto office in the coming months.

Mathiasz was accompanied to the breakfast by John McKinnon, partner at Onyx Mechanical, an GoContractor client for the past two years. Onyx mechanical is a contracting company operating in the GTA that provides mechanical construction services for the ICI sector of Southern Ontario. Onyx use GoContractor’s platform to train their contractors while maintaining very high safety standards across its operations.

The Canadian market is a major growth market for GoContractor, where contractor management software is a perfect match for a country full of thriving heavy industry. In addition to Onyx Mechanical, GoContractor has a client base across Canadian heavy industry, counting Colas, Weir’s, CIMS and  Goldcorp as clients.

The Canadian market will be a high priority for GoContractor moving forward as the company continues to grow in its efforts to provide the highest standards of contractor management across the industry.
